feel totally unsupported and stressed

Postby pinkgirl_x » Mon Jul 05, 2010 3:28 pm

HI there
sorry this is a bit of a moany email but i just dont know what else to do.
ive been working as a CS for 3 years in my current school but just the last few weeks I've had enough. The work set is appalling, the support from heads of subject is non exsistant (emails sent about quality of work and behaviour are unaknowledged), covering the same lessons weeks in a row, thats before the deteriorating behaviour and usual lack supervision/line manager support etc.

I know it is rediculous for a cover supervisor to go off with stress, but at the moment I am considering phoning in sick tomorrow, was in tears at break about it all and since I have been home on and off crying.
has anyone got any advice on who to turn to? tried our so called line manager who is also the heads pa, and numerous other admin jobs and she was just like that is the way it is. tough.
no one is bothered about us, we are the lowest in the school

Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time - are you part of a team of cover supervisors or a lone one?
Are you a member of a union? If so, you can ask them for advice - if not, you could either join one or make an appt to see the head and tell him/her about the situation, making your concerns crystal clear! You would also need to offer solutions to the problems - come up with a list!
You may not get the results you are seeking immdiately, but at least it may make you feel better to air your concerns.
Good luck.
