Hi,
I am currently volunteering through Northampton Volunteer Help Scheme, in a main stream primary school supporting KS2 children with reading and literacy. Following positive feed back from the headmistress, I am planning to do the CACHE Level Two Qualification, to then apply do get experience as a teaching assistant, to subsequently do teacher training.
I am also currently working for a care agency including supporting a teenage boy at home with learning difficulties and autsim behaviour. This includes helping his mum get him ready for school and on to his school bus, then engaiging with him in actiuvities at home, after school, one day a week.
I have also recently complted a Foundation Degree in health studies, which included addressing barriers to occupational activities, through understanding of physical and cognitive function.
In my previoius career life I have supportrd people with learning difficulties to promote activities of independent living. Prior to this I was a librarian working mainly inpublic libraries, and further education college libraries, and gained experienc eworking with the public, including young people.
I would like to know if my current and previous expereince and attributes would be suitable for me to apply for primary school teaching assistant posts in main stream and special schools?
Many thanks
